Signs of Spring

Steadily rising temperatures and the return of my beloved Formula 1 are signs that Spring is indeed on its way – it’s also time to switch the wagon from its Winter wheels and tires to its Summer shoes.

New music favorite: Yoav

Driving home from work Thursday night, I was listening to XRT and heard ‘Club Thing’ by a musician named Yoav. It was very different …and prompted a quick visit to iTunes. A few listens of the song previews on the album “Charmed & Strange” and I was sold.

It’s just his voice and an acoustic guitar with heavy use of delay and a loop pedal (which I’m starting to shop for ;-> ). The lush rich sounds he’s able to create and build on via the loops are amazing. After a few listens of the album, my emerging favorites are Adore Adore, Beautiful Lie, Club Thing, One by One, and Where is my Mind.

Definitely worth a listen.
