After leading most of the race, Räikkönen went out with mechanical problems (gearbox) mid-way – amazing drive by his team mate, Juan Pablo Montoya, who spun on his qualifying lap, started from the rear, and ended up second.

Result: Alonso (center), Montoya (left), and Button (right). Alonso leads in points with 87 – Räikkönen in second with 51.
